Select specialty did an excellent job with my father! He came in bad shape! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! They took their time to talk with us and educate us about his care! We had a meeting with ALL of the staff that took care of him to discuss our goals and realistic expections for recovery. They were very accommodating to the fact I had a traumatic experience prior to his arrival. They worked to fast resolve any issues immediately. Communication is a must for me and they did great. My father is now home and completely weaned from the ventilator! He is 80! Definitely our best healthcare experience in the past few years of dealing with my fathers medical situation.
This hospital is outstanding in all aspects from managment to housekeeping.The nurses are very professional and courteous i cant say enough to put this hospital and staff to the top. This place brought my wife from near death and on a ventilator to going home breathing on her own in just a couple weeks .we are very thankful for their support and expertise because without them i would never be able to take care of my wife.So with much gratitude to all the staff who makes this place great thank you and god bless you all.And special thanks to the ceo Steve he is a very nice gentleman who does everything possible to make the stay actually comfortable. Being the full time Housekeeper for Select Specialty for 2 years I've seen miracles after miracles after miracles. We sure are a team and everyone does their best to go above and beyond for each of our customers. Our staff are very helpful very pleasant to our visitors and customers. I would recommend anyone to be a staff member or a patient in Select Specialty York. Big thanks to our CEOs, case manager, human resource, our nursing station staff, nurses, doctors , nurse aids, our students, our material handler, respiratory, wound care nurse , physical therapy and every one including my self.
This facility is very good place to work. It is managed very well and almost stress free. The staff is working very hard to bring comfortable, healthy environment to the patients. I feel that it is my second family.
My mom had fallen for the third time and was post surgery by 12 days. A nursing home could not care for her so the case manager suggested transfer to an LTACH (long term acute care hospital.) I immediately thought of the Select Specialty Hospital in York. Two days later she was admitted to the Select Hospital. The staff was as friendly and caring as they could be. The doctor were well-versed in my moms case the first day. Mom was there about two weeks and improved dramatically each day. Select's niche is that time between when an acute hospital is not appropriate and the care needed is above what a nursing home can provide.
