Friendly and quick. Arrived around 3:15 on a Friday afternoon and was out the door by 3:30. This was for a name change.
Wasn't a terrible experience. Wait time was HUGE but hell I expected that it is a government office!! I got there what I thought to be early but was at the end of a very long line waiting to get in. The security guard gave a long speech about the rules (don't bring your pocket knife, no matter how small it is! Had to take mine back to the car AND lost my place in line!!) While waiting in line to use their touch screen I saw the bright yellow Cell Phone sign on the guards desk. Phones are allowed, as she explained it you can use them like a computer but not like a phone or camera as long as the sound was turned off (I don't know what that other reviewer mean by not enforced, I saw the guard throw some guy out after she told him several times no calls!!). So no calls but games were okay. The office actually smelled nice when I first got in, kinda like mangos, but that was lost as people filed in. This woman sat beside me that just REEKED like urine!! I almost puked, had to get up and move!! The general smell got worse as I waited my HOUR wait just to change my name!! But like I said I expected no less. I think the worst part of my experience wasn't the smell or the rules or the service once I got to a window. It was the arrogant people that came in. People, it's a place of business. I don't want your kids coming up and putting their sticky hands on me! And it's not a playground, keep them under control!! It is beyond me why you need to bring 5 kids all under 2 years old to do your business! And seriously, if your kid starts screaming 1)pay attention to it-put the cell phone DOWN! 2) if you can't calm your child take them out of the lobby until you can. People are trying to do business they don't need or want to hear your child screaming for 30 minutes!! Have some decent curtesy! AND FOR GODS SAKE BATHE!!!!
This SSA office is wonderful. The staff are very attentive and actually listen to your questions and try to answer all of them. I went there after work at 3:30 a few times - not a lot of people so waiting wasn't too bad. One time, two representatives actually stayed there until 4:35 to help me resolve an issue. I definitely recommend this place.
I was there on 5/12 at 1:30 PM about two items of business. After signing in at the kiosk, I waited no more than 20 minutes before being called to a window (there were a number or people before me.) The employee was polite and knowledgeable about my primary problem and was able to take my paperwork to the appropriate analyst. The second problem was resolved in less than a minute. All-in-all, a pleasant experience.
Wow oh wow this place is a nightmare! Its always over crowded...and peoples kids are alwaus running yelling and annoying! The people behind the windows have always been pleasant to me. The he-she flashlight wanna be cop has got to go! I dont understaind why she has not been fired yet! She is rude and nasty! It makes the social security office very uncomfortable. She once took mace and would not give it back. I cant staind her i wish she would get fired. I refuse to go into this office until she is fired!
