This is a gorgeous building, both inside and out. As a out of state patron, I felt totally at home here. The circulation staff was eager to share the history of the library when asked. It looked to be an up to date and extensive collection of material.
I'd recommend people avoid this library until there is a shift in policy which is blatantly necessary. That's just lazy management.
No public bathroom? It's a public library- and you have two functioning bathrooms that you keep locked and unavailable to the public.
Only glad it's still there. The lovely warm interior is now a bland cold space. Remember sitting in the wooden alcoves in the archaeology srection
Parents can't bring their children to a library without a bathroom and people can't realistically expect to spend any time in a library that doesn't have a bathroom.
I love this library but while visiting today we found out they started keeping the bathrooms locked. My 5 year old was dancing holding himself while finding someone to unlock the kids bathroom.
Great kids space. Also great quite room.
