Completely disagree about sue! Shes awesome! She delivered my sixth child and jan delivered my seventh. I love the mid wives there...they are so kind and caring and are every bit as knowledgable as any of the doctors. Infact I prefer them over the doctors...and with seven kids, believe me, I've seen them all...highly recommend both sue and jan...they are amazing! :)
I've been going to this office for over 10 years now. As a GYN, I never had any issues, other than my practitioners moving to the hospital.
Back on the midwife thing, every time I go in to see her, the appointment lasts at least an HOUR with me waiting for at least 45 minutes of that time. A doppler screening and measurement usually only takes about 5 to 10 minutes. THERE IS NO REASON I should have to sit in the office that long. When I see the OB, I'm in and out of that place in 20 minutes TOPS.
I trust my current OB's opinions and diagnosis much more than the midwife that I've had to see on a few occasions. It seems every time I see this particular midwife, she is complaining about something with me, where my OB hasn't seen a problem yet. And, at 39 weeks, my due date looming, she's sending me for diagnostic screening at the lab when she got the same diagnosis of the OB a week ago... who didn't send me for anything!
Also, I get tired of having to look over my chart every time I go in to see if my information is up to date. I don't expect them to remember me each time I go in... but for the past 2 months I've been in there every week... you'd think you could go a week without asking me to update my contact information... I don't move that often.
As an OB patient now, I can say that I have been slightly disappointed a few times. I haven't been bounced around to each practitioner in the building. I can say that only recently (and I'm at 39 weeks) did I discover there was another OB in the office that I could've seen. I also don't like being bounced from midwife to OB and back again.
It's like she wants me to panic this late in the game, knowing that the OB (because she can look at my chart) gave me a clean bill of health just a week before.
I have had 3 children with this practice. I liked the set up with both midwives and doctors. Sue delivered my first two children and Renee delivered my last baby and I loved them both. They were calm, competent, and personable. I saw a variety of doctors and midwives during my prenatal care and felt comfortable with everyone.
Love this practice! I delivered my first child with the other women's group in York. I was extrememly insulted by a doc there and changed practices to have my other 2 children. I love Dr. Jackson. He is an amazing person. He's caring and down to earth. He makes one feel so comfortable in his presence. He also goes the extra mile to take care of his patients. I had a few unrealted surgeries with my last pregnancy and he heard I was in the hospital, came down to see me and make sure I was okay! I can't say enough good things about him. I also love Jan Bollinger (mid wife). She is very caring and delivered my second child. She was great with helping me through labor. As for Sue Martin, she's probably my least favorite as well, but I haven't run into any excessive testing with her, its actually the opposite. She's a little aloof, but a I still trust her. Don't let Sue deter you from this group of fantastic docs. They truly are the cream of the crop.
In closing, I love Dr. Russo. Steer clear of Sue Martin.
